The book of Colossians was written by the apostle Paul while imprisoned and is labeled a "prison epistle" along with Ephesians, Philemon and Philippians. In this short letter we find Paul's emphasis upon Jesus Christ being supreme over all things including His created universe, His church and His people. In the letter Paul addresses a "Colossian heresy" that was impacted the Colossian church and also give practical and Biblical instruction on teh Christian life, home and friendships.
